“Youth In Revolt” receives a R rating/Oct 30th release
by tess ~ June 15th, 2009. Filed under: Youth In Revolt. After months of delays and release date changes, news of a release date and rating for Youth In Revolt has emerged.
This past week, the MPAA slapped an R rating on Michael Cera’s upcoming fall release Youth in Revolt. The ratings board stated sexual content, language and drug use as the reason for the rating. I am a little bit surprised, as the film seemed to stand out more as a Juno than a Superbad. However, this is by no means a bad thing. Rated R comedies are hot right now, and have been for several years. A prime example is this past weekend’s number one film The Hangover, having banked over $105 million in ten days, setting it up for a total north of $200 million.
Youth in Revolt is set for an October 30, 2009 limited release in select cities. The Michigan filmed comedy co-stars Steve Buscemi, Justin Long, Jean Smart, and Zach Galifianakis. (Source – MiFilmTourage)
