Just a little line from Michael Cera on the casting of Estelle:
One of his ideas was to cast Jean Smart as his divorced mother, Estelle, a woman with poor taste in men. “I just pictured her when I was reading the book,” Cera says, and Arteta agreed. (Source)

It has been announced by Gen Arts that there will be advanced screenings and after parties for Youth In Revolt in New York, January 5th and in Los Angeles on January 6th. Jean is listed as being “expected to attend”.

Just a quick mention that the Youth In Revolt website has been updated and in addition to other features now includes little bios on the characters, including Jean’s character Estelle.

For those in the UK, Youth In Revolt has been passed by the British Board of Film Classification with a 15 certificate and a potential release date of February 5th 2010.
